Mattea Mrkusic

Mattea Mrkusic

Mattea is a policy lead at Evergreen. She brings skills as an organizer and storyteller to her climate policy work. As a former journalist, Mattea reported on the climate crisis from Kiribati, Nepal, and the US. Mattea has also worked for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Equator Initiative, Refugees International, and Climate Law and Policy (CLP). Her research focuses on green jobs, disaster displacement, and climate finance. Mattea earned a degree in environmental studies and human rights at Harvard University. She was a 2019 Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford, where she studied a Master of Public Policy (MPP) and a Master of Refugee and Forced Migration Studies. Mattea grew up in Portland, Oregon and Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa New Zealand.
