Today, Evergreen Action is proud to announce that longtime climate movement veteran Tony Sirna is joining the Evergreen Policy team to lead policy development and advocacy for decarbonizing the buildings sector.
“Tony is a real pro with a deep understanding of our movement and the tremendous challenges and opportunities ahead of us,” said Evergreen Action Vice President Craig Segall. “We’re delighted to welcome him to the team to level up our work to electrify America’s built environment and eliminate fossil fuel pollution in our homes.”
“I’ve been proud to work alongside Evergreen to pass historic climate legislation and tackle climate pollution across the economy over the last four years, and I couldn’t be more excited to join the team,” said Evergreen Action Senior Buildings Policy Lead Tony Sirna. “The buildings sector is one of the easiest parts of the economy to decarbonize from a technology standpoint, but we’ve got to do it right—focusing on the real people we can help and neighborhoods we can rebuild. I look forward to working with partners across the movement to overcome roadblocks at every level of government so we can lower energy bills, eliminate indoor pollution, and create good-paying jobs in every corner of the country.”
Tony joins Evergreen after nearly a decade with Citizens’ Climate Lobby, most recently as their Vice President of Organizational Strategy. At CCL, Tony organized a building decarbonization campaign from the ground up and oversaw strategic leadership to empower everyday people to lobby their elected officials and advocate for climate solutions. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.
