NEW VIDEO: It’s Time for Schumer to Deliver on Climate Promises

Evergreen Action Releases New Video Calling for Climate Action, Highlighting 11 Times Majority Leader Has Promised to Make Climate Change a Top Priority

Today, Evergreen Action launched a new video calling on Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to deliver on his repeated promises to make climate a top priority. The video features 11 times over the past 2 years that Schumer has promised to deliver on climate change.

However, the Senate has yet to take action on a reconciliation package. All 50 Senate Democrats have expressed willingness to pass a bill with historic climate investments. In the new video, Evergreen calls on Schumer to finally deliver on climate.

This video is a part of a digital campaign from Evergreen to direct calls and emails to Schumer’s office calling for action on a climate reconciliation bill.

“In his own words, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer promised the Senate will ‘forcefully, insistently, and urgently’ address climate as the greatest threat to our country. But after more than a year of Democratic control in Washington, he still has yet to deliver,” said Evergreen Action Executive Director Jamal Raad“Leader Schumer rightly prioritized climate when Democrats took control of the Senate, and now is the moment for him to keep his word. A just transition to a clean energy economy would allow us to completely step away from the volatility of the oil and gas market and cut off financial support for fossil-fueled dictators like Vladimir Putin. The climate investments in the reconciliation bill passed by the House are the first step to making that a reality. Senator Schumer can’t afford to miss this moment and let our last, best chance to secure a liveable future slip away.”
