Transformative program delivering despite Trump’s baseless attacks
In response to Transportation Secretary Duffy's announcement that the Trump administration is extending their ‘deadline’ for New York to end the congestion pricing program, Evergreen Action States Vice President Justin Balik released the following statement:
“Despite Trump’s repeated attempts to hold New York’s economy hostage, New York’s congestion pricing program is here to stay. They extended their 'deadline' because they know they don’t have a leg to stand on. In just over two months, we’ve seen enormous results, and public support is only increasing as commuters experience the benefits of less congested, safer streets. New York’s approvals to implement congestion pricing are on firm legal footing and won’t be easily undone by an ideological vendetta. Trump is not a king, and he doesn’t get to dictate New York’s future. We’re grateful Governor Hochul is standing firm against these attacks. Governors across the country should follow her lead and stand up for critical programs and investments for their communities in the face of this lawless administration.
