Today, Governor Gavin Newsom signed a landmark suite of climate and clean energy bills into law, which will save Californians billions at a time when rising costs are crushing working-class people. In response, Evergreen Action States Vice President Justin Balik released the following statement:

“While Donald Trump slams the brakes on clean energy to protect his fossil fuel donors, California is racing ahead with bold climate leadership. By extending and strengthening cap-and-invest, investing billions in clean energy, housing, and transit, and protecting residents from rising energy costs, the state is demonstrating what’s possible even as Trump tries to steer the country in reverse. We applaud Governor Newsom and California legislators for leading the way in cutting pollution, lowering bills, and building more resilient communities. Now we must accelerate this kind of progress in California and across the nation to meet the full scale of the climate crisis.”
